Business Development Manager (Agency)
Division: Commercial & Partnerships Reports To: Group Head of Business Development Works Closely With: VP of Agency, VP of Growth Role Overview The Business Development Manageris responsible for driving commercial revenue for MEGA’s owned Agency offering. This is a hands-on role focused on securing new clients and building strong, long-term relationships with brands and rights holders (with a focus on gaming / esports and sports). Working closely with the Group Head of Business Development, VP of Agency and VP of Growth, the Business Development Manager translates commercial strategy into execution, leading deal conversations, managing their own pipeline, and collaborating with the Agency team to help ensure a steady deal-flow of new clients. Key Responsibilities Outreach to defined target brands and rights holders within agreed categories Set up calls and meetings to introduce brands and rights holders to the Agency offering Lead sales presentations to prospective clients Effectively manage new business, including prospecting and sales pipeline Research prospects with the aim of gathering statistical information to better qualify and present propositions Monitor gaming / esports and sports publications, and announcements with the purpose of identifying meaningful trends, influential people and burgeoning brands and rights holders to determine potential targets Represent MEGA at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities Meet and exceed sales quotas as directed by the VP of Growth Work with Group Head of Business Development on the creation of proposals and pitch documents Support the wider Commercial & Partnerships team on pitch materials and new business initiatives where required Commercial & Strategic Focus The Business Development Manageris expected to: Drive revenue while protecting the Agency’s brand and creative integrity Work cross-functionally to ensure clients are deliverable and commercially sound Balance short-term revenue targets with long-term relationship building Core Capabilities & Attributes 2+ years of business development experience in gaming / esports, sports marketing, marketing services, sponsorship and/or communications. Understanding of agency-based revenue models Excellent communication and presentation skills Proven history of meeting and overachieving sales targets Proficient in use of Sales CRM tools What Success Looks Like Consistent delivery against commercial and revenue targets Strong pipeline of high-quality opportunities Positive collaboration with Agency team Improved deal quality, not just deal volume Long-term partner relationships that extend beyond single campaigns Why This Role Matters The Business Development Manager is central to the Agency’s success.
