Data Engineer

Description: Join an innovative venture and new business organization focused on building new solutions that extend the company’s role in the transport ecosystem. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and scale a digital platform for used vehicle parts, connecting workshops and vehicle dismantlers to enable reuse of high-quality spare parts through secure, scalable, and data-driven solutions. This is a broad senior engineering role covering data engineering, backend services, cloud infrastructure, integrations, analytics, observability, and AI-assisted development. You will work in a small, fast-paced venture team with high ownership and close collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders. Assignment Overview: The consultant will own and improve the platform’s data foundation, including data models, ingestion flows, integrations, and data quality. The role also includes contributing to backend and cloud infrastructure and ensuring reliable, scalable, and observable data and platform capabilities aligned with product and business priorities. Responsibilities: - Own and evolve the platform’s data model to support multiple sellers, markets, and integrations. - Design and maintain ingestion pipelines (imports, validation, transformation, retries, auditability). - Establish reliable data pipelines, contracts, and quality controls for trusted business metrics. - Handle integrations and external data sources (DMS/ERP, Snowflake, CSV/FTP, etc.). - Improve data quality, traceability, and observability across platform domains. - Contribute to backend and cloud infrastructure (AWS, databases, jobs, monitoring, scaling). - Collaborate with Product Lead and Lead Developer on architecture and priorities. - Support engineering standards, CI/CD, and documentation. - Act as technical representative in data flows and integration discussions. Must Have: - Senior experience in data engineering, backend, or platform engineering. - Strong experience with SQL, relational data modeling, and data pipelines. - Experience with APIs and cloud environments, preferably AWS. Nice To Have: - Experience with PostgreSQL, Node.js/TypeScript, and Python. - Experience with Snowflake and modern data stack. - Experience from marketplace platforms or multi-stakeholder systems. - Experience from startup, venture, or fast-moving product environments. Language: English required. Swedish and additional European languages are considered a merit.
