ROLE We are seeking an Equipment Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment used in battery production. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, supporting new equipment installations, and helping maintain safe and reliable manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and enjoys solving technical problems in a fast-paced startup environment. As part of a small team, you will work closely with engineers, operators, and production personnel to support manufacturing success and help scale our operations. RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment. - Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment issues. - Support daily production by responding to equipment downtime and resolving issues efficiently. - Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification activities. - Perform inspections, calibrations, and routine maintenance tasks according to established procedures. - Document maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and troubleshooting findings. - Partner with engineering teams to implement equipment upgrades and process improvements. - Maintain spare parts inventories and support equipment reliability initiatives. - Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment. - Support continuous improvement efforts to increase equipment uptime and manufacturing efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS - Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience. - 2+ years of experience maintaining industrial, manufacturing, automation, or production equipment. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read/generate technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation. - Experience using hand tools, power tools, and common diagnostic equipment. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs or ladders as needed. - Ability to work safely in manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and testing environments. - Ability to operate carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and basic facility equipment. - Ability to use standard hand tools, computers, and testing equipment. - Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear. - Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, and industrial processes.
