Job Title: Manager, Accounting Requisition ID: R027680 Job Description: As a Manager, Accounting, you will play a key role in the Activision Blizzard controllership and the APAC Finance Team. You will oversee accounting close processes and provide governance and subject matter expertise in accounting close and reporting, guiding and challenging outsourced teams to ensure accurate and compliant accounting outcomes in line with internal policies and performance standards. You'll act as a key point of contact and escalation, working with stakeholders across ABK to drive execution of accounting and financial reporting activities. This role does not include ownership of local statutory accounting or tax compliance. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, a solutions-oriented mindset, and a strong background in accounting close, business partnering, and process management. Overall, this role is responsible for (1) Governance and Compliance, (2) Issue Resolution and Support, (3) Reporting, (4) Process Improvement and Optimization and (5) ensuring accounting activities are reviewed, challenged and validated in line with US GAAP and company policies, with escalation of complex or technical matters as needed. What you bring to the table Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: Serve as a subject matter expert and reviewer supporting outsourced vendor teams responsible for accounting activities. Responsibilities include validating financial close journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, analytical reviews, and other reporting deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with ABK accounting policies and guidelines. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement. Field questions from business partners in alignment with accounting policies. Perform in-depth P&L and BS analysis and respond to inquiries from business and finance partners regarding actual financial performance. Provide escalated support and troubleshooting to users. Investigate and resolve business partner inquiries, accounting deviations, and other data anomalies. Collaborate with various Global and Regional Accounting teams to ensure consistent accounting practices across different regions. Partner with the IA and SOX teams to ensure robust controls are in place for all accounting processes. Support global initiatives to standardize, optimize, and automate accounting processes. Champion data-driven improvements by identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and accuracy, implementing best practices, and driving continuous process enhancements across key business activities. Act as the APAC GL lead from a governance and oversight perspective, providing guidance and support to both internal teams and external vendors. Minimum Requirements Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 5+ years accounting or finance experience Extensive experience in accounting close and financial reporting. Proven track record in project management, demonstrating the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within scope. Experience working with international teams is highly desirable. Knowledge of APAC region accounting standards, tax regulations and practices is a plus.
