This is a role for you who enjoy working close to real industrial applications, where mechanical design, piping, equipment layout and practical engineering decisions are central to successful project delivery.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>At Metacon, you will become part of a highly competent and collaborative engineering environment with short decision paths and great opportunities to contribute. You will work closely with colleagues within process, electrical, automation, instrumentation, project management and procurement, as well as with suppliers, partners and customers.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><strong>About the role</strong></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>As Mechanical Engineer – Piping & Plant Layout, you will have an important role in the development and execution of Metacon’s hydrogen projects. You will work with mechanical layouts, piping routes, equipment arrangements, skid and container interfaces, and the integration of hydrogen systems, utilities and balance-of-plant equipment.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>The role covers both early project phases detailed engineering, supplier coordination, manufacturing support, installation, mechanical completion and commissioning.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>A key part of the role is to understand how different technical systems connect and function together in practice. This includes piping routes, accessibility, maintainability, installation feasibility, safety aspects and interfaces between equipment, containers, skids, customer scope and site conditions.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>Your responsibilities will include:</span></p><ul><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Develop and coordinate General Arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, 2D drawings, 3D models and related mechanical design documentation.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Develop and coordinate piping layouts, pipe routing and mechanical interfaces and integration of hydrogen systems, utilities and balance-of-plant equipment.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Define and coordinate interfaces between containers, skids, compressors, storage systems, refuelling systems, utility systems and customer/site scope.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Review and provide input to P&IDs, layouts, supplier documentation and technical documentation from a mechanical and piping perspective.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Contribute to piping specifications, pipe classes, material selections, pipe support concepts and mechanical design assumptions.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability reviews and project risk reviews.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Support RFQs, supplier clarifications and technical bid evaluations for mechanical equipment, piping, valves, fittings and related systems.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, mechanical completion, commissioning and handover.</span></p></li><li class="MsoNormal"><p><span>Contribute to engineering standards, lessons learned and reusable design solutions for future projects.</span></p></li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><span><strong>Your profile</strong></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>We are looking for someone with experience from mechanical engineering, piping engineering, plant layout or mechanical integration in industrial projects. You may come from process industry, energy, gas, water treatment, pharma, industrial consulting or another environment where technical systems, piping, equipment layout and interfaces are central.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>You likely have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
