Network Engineer [Try 'n' Hire]

<p>We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a global organization with a large and complex network environment. In this role, you will work hands-on with daily network operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing connectivity across the business.</p><p>This is a try-and-hire opportunity. The assignment begins as a consulting engagement and is intended to transition into permanent employment with the client after approximately 6–12 months.</p><h2>Your Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, datacenter, and campus networks</p></li><li><p>Perform incident and problem management, including root-cause analysis</p></li><li><p>Execute configuration changes according to established governance processes</p></li><li><p>Monitor network health and performance</p></li><li><p>Support network architects with implementation, documentation, and validation</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate documentation and configuration repositories</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with security teams on firewall changes and network segmentation</p></li><li><p>Work with vendors to support upgrades and troubleshooting</p></li></ul><h2>Required Skills and Experience</h2><ul><li><p>Strong understanding of OSI/TCP-IP, IP addressing, and subnetting</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP</p></li><li><p>Experience with Cisco platforms; Juniper experience is an advantage</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with Wi-Fi operations and modern wireless standards</p></li><li><p>Experience using Wireshark</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of monitoring and telemetry platforms</p></li><li><p>Basic automation skills using Python, Ansible, and APIs</p></li><li><p>At least 5 years of experience in a similar role and 10+ years of total professional experience</p></li></ul><h2>Nice to Have</h2><ul><li><p>Experience with SD-WAN, SDN, SASE, and CATO</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Palo Alto PanOS and Panorama</p></li><li><p>Exposure to RESTCONF and NETCONF APIs</p></li><li><p>Cloud networking experience</p></li><li><p>Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS, or PCNSE</p></li></ul><h2>Personal Qualities</h2><ul><li><p>Reliable and detail-oriented</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills</p></li><li><p>Team-oriented and collaborative</p></li><li><p>Comfortable taking ownership and driving continuous improvement</p></li></ul><h2>Other Information</h2><ul><li><p>Start date: As soon as possible</p></li><li><p>Employment model: Try-and-hire</p></li><li><p>Initial consulting period: Approximately 6–12 months</p></li><li><p>Planned transition to permanent employment with the client after the initial period</p></li><li><p>Work model: Hybrid</p></li><li><p>Location: Sweden</p></li></ul><h2>Application Instructions</h2><p>Please submit your CV in English together with your earliest possible start date, preferred delivery model, and hourly rate.</p>
