Power System Simulation Model Manager
The Opportunity Join the Power Quality Global Center of Competence in Västerås! We specialize in FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) technology, which enhances power system capacity and stability. This allows more power to reach customers with minimal environmental impact and lower costs. We’re launching a brand-new team within the Studies and Control Performance department—and we’re looking for a passionate and technically skilled leader to build it from the ground up.As Manager for the Power System Simulation Model team, you’ll be the cornerstone of this initiative. You’ll recruit and develop a high-performing team, define the processes, and contribute hands-on to simulation model development. This is your opportunity to shape a function that will directly support customer projects and drive innovation in our modeling capabilities. How you'll make an impact Build the Team: Recruit, onboard, and mentor a new team of simulation model engineers. Define roles, structure, and a collaborative team culture. Lead by Example: Contribute hands-on to the development and delivery of simulation models (RMS, EMT, RTDS, etc.). Guide your team with deep technical insight and support. Shape the Process: Establish workflows, tools, and best practices for model development, validation, and delivery. Drive Strategy: Align team capacity with business needs. Collaborate with other departments including R&D and Product Management to ensure simulation models integrate seamlessly into project work. Be the Go-To Expert: Represent the team in cross-functional forums and customer interactions. Support tendering and R&D with modeling expertise. Your Background Hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar and have at least 10 years of experience in simulation model development for power systems (HVDC, FACTS, or similar). Proficiency in RMS and EMT tools (e.g., PSCAD, PowerFactory, PSS/E, and RTDS). Prior leadership experience (line manager, team lead, or project manager). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive, structured, and analytical mindset. Fluency in English (Swedish is a plus).
