Project Leader - Uptime (Aftermarket)
For our client we are looking for Project Leader - Uptime (aftermarket). Our client is looking for an Uptime Project Leader to support vehicle projects and running changes across the vehicle lifecycle. The consultant will be responsible for securing all Uptime-related deliveries towards vehicle projects, including handling Product Change Requests (PCR’s) and Content Change Requests (CCR’s) from counterparts in China, as well as acting as the main Uptime interface within vehicle development projects. The role includes responsibility for delivering according to objectives, time plans, budget, and quality, and for driving, monitoring, and reporting project progress to the Vehicle Management team as well as Uptime management. The assignment requires solid project leadership experience within the automotive industry, preferably within aftermarket, combined with a strong understanding of vehicle development, vehicle systems, and aftermarket processes. Assignment Description The Uptime organization at our client is responsible for all areas typically defined as aftermarket within the automotive industry. The mission is to proactively secure vehicle uptime and, when downtime occurs, ensure fast and efficient troubleshooting to restore vehicle functionality. As an Uptime Project Leader, the consultant will work closely with: • Vehicle project organization and the commercial project leaders • Internal stakeholders • Development counterparts in China • The full Uptime organization The consultant acts as a key interface and information carrier between Uptime, vehicle projects, and stakeholders, ensuring that Uptime requirements, constraints, and deliverables are integrated into vehicle development and change management. The role includes two main areas of responsibility: 1. Vehicle Project Lead (Uptime) In vehicle development projects, the consultant will act as the main Uptime representative and be responsible for: • Transferring information between vehicle projects, Uptime, and other internal departments • Securing Uptime requirements, deliverables, and gate material in vehicle projects • Coordinating legal, operational, and aftermarket impacts • Reporting status, risks, issues, and improvement proposals to management • Ensuring Uptime readiness throughout the vehicle project lifecycle 2. Running Changes / Change Management The consultant will also act as Project Leader for Running Changes, handling incoming PCR’s and CCR’s from China across multiple vehicle projects. The Running Change scope remains active until each vehicle reaches end of production. In addition, the role may include more ad hoc or cross-functional Uptime initiatives, such as: • Internal Uptime improvement projects • Aftermarket systems and information projects • Multi-brand or new-market implementations • Uptime strategy, vision, and long-term targets • Business cases, rules, and governance development The role is based in Gothenburg. Travel within Europe and to China may occur depending on project scope. Requirements • Proven experience as a Project Leader within the automotive industry • Experience from aftermarket and/or vehicle development projects is highly valued • Broad understanding of how vehicles are built and how changes impact aftermarket, service, and operations • Strong ability to manage change requests and complex cross-functional dependencies • Experience working with international stakeholders • Excellent English skills (spoken and written) Software and IT • Microsoft Office • Asana • Azure DevOps or equivalent project tracking tools Personal attributes We are looking for a consultant who is proactive, self-driven, and comfortable in a fast-changing and complex environment. Key Deliverables/Scope • Secured Uptime deliveries towards vehicle project gates • Handling and coordination of PCR’s and CCR’s within agreed processes and lead times • Clear communication and alignment of Uptime impacts with internal stakeholders • Status reporting to Vehicle Management and Uptime management • Project documentation, decision material, and follow-up • Contribution to continuous improvement of Uptime processes and ways of working Project governance The projects will be governed by Uptime Management. Decisions about starting projects, timelines and changes will be made within the Uptime Management team together with responsible Project Leader.
