Project Manager – Payroll System Implementation & People Operations Discovery On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end payroll system implementation projects across multiple countries, as well as local country discovery efforts related to Payroll, Employee Life Cycle, and Time & Attendance processes. Position Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering payroll transformation initiatives while ensuring compliance, stakeholder alignment, and a smooth transition to business-as-usual operations. The role requires strong project management expertise, payroll process knowledge, vendor coordination experience, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a global environment. This position reports functionally to the Global Payroll Transformation Lead, who acts as the overarching Program Manager. Key Responsibilities * Lead payroll implementation projects from initiation through go-live and stabilization. * Drive local country discovery activities to understand current-state processes and define future-state solutions. * Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. * Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, and status reporting. * Coordinate with HR, Finance, IT, payroll vendors, and business stakeholders. * Manage payroll system implementation activities, including integrations and data migration. * Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies. * Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and document functional specifications. * Oversee SIT, UAT, parallel payroll runs, and defect resolution activities. * Monitor budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful delivery. * Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. * Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders and project sponsors. * Support change management, training, and operational handover. * Ensure post-implementation support and project closure activities are completed successfully. Qualifications * 5+ years of project management experience within payroll or HR transformation initiatives. * Proven experience leading payroll implementations in managed services environments. * Hands-on experience with Workday (mandatory). * Experience building Workday-to-payroll integrations (mandatory). * Experience with Strada implementations (preferred). * Experience supporting divestment projects (preferred). * Strong understanding of payroll operations and compliance requirements. * Experience working with global and cross-functional teams. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
