Senior Automation & SCADA Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation & SCADA Developer. The role is positioned at the intersection of energy production, industrial automation, and software engineering, developing and maintaining solutions that connect production facilities, automation systems, SCADA platforms, and IT services. About the Team The IT/OT Interfaces Team is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted data flow between production facilities, networks, and control room systems. The team enables real-time operational visibility, automated control, and reliable operation of business-critical production systems. In addition, the team is responsible for the cybersecurity of the automation layer and supports the continuity of critical 24/7 services. Key Responsibilities Developing energy management and automation solutions, with a focus on SCADA and OT environments Designing and implementing distributed, scalable PLC solutions for energy production environments Delivering automation and SCADA integrations to production facilities Developing and maintaining high-quality software components and critical operational systems Participating in real-world projects within industrial and production environments Ensuring that OT and IT solutions meet operational, quality, and deployment requirements Contributing to software engineering best practices, quality assurance, and development culture Collaborating closely with automation specialists, project managers, production teams, IT experts, and business stakeholders Required Experience At least 5 years of experience in automation software development or industrial software engineering Strong understanding of automation, SCADA, and OT systems Experience with industrial communication and integration protocols, including: OPC UA, IEC-104, Modbus TCP, ICCP Hands-on PLC programming experience, preferably with Codesys Experience working with SCADA systems and related development activities Understanding of industrial integrations and control room environments Interest in system documentation, maintainability, and lifecycle management Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Fluent English language skills; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage Nice to have Experience in the energy sector, utilities, or process industries Experience with WinCC OA development and configuration Knowledge of WAGO PLC solutions and WAGO Solution Builder Understanding of networking technologies and OT cybersecurity Experience with automation system configuration and commissioning Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines Start date: 01.09.2026 End date: 31.08.2027 Scope: 100% allocation Location: Office in Helsinki, with occasional visits to production facilities and sites across Finland The payment terms for this client is 120 days.
