Senior Data Engineer

Assignment Description We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer for an assignment requiring on-site presence. You will work in a small, fast-moving venture team developing and scaling a secure, scalable, and data-driven digital platform that connects external partners and supports the reuse of high-quality components. You will collaborate with the Product Lead and Lead Developer on architecture and priorities, support engineering standards, CI/CD, and documentation, and represent the technical perspective in discussions about data flows and integrations. The role covers data engineering, backend services, cloud infrastructure, integrations, analytics, observability, and AI-assisted development. You will own and improve the platform’s data foundation, including data models, ingestion flows, integrations, and data quality across the platform. This includes developing and maintaining data models that support several parties, markets, and integrations, designing and operating ingestion flows for imports, validation, transformation, retries, and auditability, and establishing data pipelines, contracts, and quality controls for trusted business metrics. You will also work with integrations and external data sources such as business systems, data platforms, and file-based transfers, while improving data quality, traceability, and observability across platform domains. The role further includes contributing to AWS, databases, jobs, monitoring, and scaling. Required Qualifications: Ability to communicate professionally in both English and Swedish. Practical experience working with APIs and cloud-based environments, preferably AWS. Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL, relational data modelling, and data pipeline development. Senior-level background within data engineering, backend engineering, or platform engineering. Meritorious Qualifications It is considered meritorious if you have experience from marketplace platforms or multi-stakeholder systems, as well as experience from startup, venture, or fast-moving product environments. Experience with PostgreSQL, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Snowflake, and a modern data stack is also considered meritorious, as is an advanced degree in a relevant field. Additional European language skills are considered meritorious.
