<p><strong>Advert Close date: - 13th July&nbsp;2026</strong></p><p></p><h2>Senior Facilities Manager at The Crown Estate</h2><h3>Purpose of Role:</h3><p>The Senior Facilities Manager (SFM) leads both people management and facilities management functions. This role is responsible for developing and supporting a facilities management team, ensuring high standards, compliance, and alignment with The Crown Estate’s values and business objectives. The SFM oversees the delivery of facilities services across a portfolio of properties, ensuring best practice and excellent customer service.</p><h3>Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities:</h3><ul><li><p>Lead and develop a facilities management team, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and performance management.</p></li><li><p>Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety (including fire safety) and driving completion of compliance actions.</p></li><li><p>Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring delivery of high-quality hard and soft services and excellent customer service.</p></li><li><p>Act as a mentor and support career development within the team, identifying and retaining key talent.</p></li><li><p>Manage service partners, attend KPI/SLA reviews, and act as an escalation point for the team.</p></li><li><p>Drive effective financial management, including service charge budgets, procurement, and variance reporting.</p></li><li><p>Support the delivery of operational initiatives and innovative solutions to improve service and customer experience.</p></li><li><p>Act as Duty Manager on a rotation, leading tactical responses to out-of-hours emergencies.</p></li><li><p>Ensure robust disaster planning, incident management, and reporting.</p></li><li><p>Support The Crown Estate’s net zero carbon ambitions through building-level initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Maintain high standards through regular site inspections and ensure compliance with contractor management processes.</p></li></ul><h3>Most Important Skills-Based Requirements:</h3><ul><li><p>Solid stakeholder management and the ability to communicate business ideas effectively.</p></li><li><p>Strong advocate for a safety-first culture.</p></li><li><p>Significant experience (at least 7 years) in facilities management, ideally with previous team leadership or operations management experience.</p></li><li><p>IWFM qualification (level 3 or equivalent), IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH National General Certificate, and/or Associate RICS or MIWFM.</p></li><li><p>Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in property management.</p></li><li><p>Excellent organisational, verbal, and written communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Experience in managing small teams and driving operational change.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost risks.</p></li><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or building services engineering qualification (desirable).</p></li></ul><p><strong>The Crown Estate is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
