We bridge clients and partners & professionals throughout the talent supply chain, for the benefit of individuals, organizations and society. 🔹 For our Client from banking industry we are looking for🔹 Senior Unix Server Support Specialist 🔹 Description : We are looking for a Senior Server Support Specialist in Warsaw to improve server support. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a team of over a dozen employees and external consultants. In this position, the person will collaborate closely with the Server Engineering team (governance, security, architecture & design) running projects and defining the future of the infrastructure, as well as with the external company responsible for most of the daily support operations from India. The role will focus on reducing the number and duration of major incidents, optimizing resources (people’s work, servers, licenses, etc.), and improving support for other teams involved in IT operations and development. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should be: Result-oriented, proactive in automation and optimization Analytical, accurate, and attentive to detail while maintaining high quality Accountable, taking ownership and delivering results Collaborative, with a strong team-player mindset The candidate does not need to meet all requirements to be a great fit, but here is what we value: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing at least several hundred Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Unix servers in enterprise environments. Platform Management: Practical experience with management and deployment tools, specifically Red Hat Satellite. Cloud & Virtualization: Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies and compute operations, with a focus on automation, analysis, modification, and testing of cloud services. Automation & FinOps: Ability to design, build, implement, and maintain automation (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to optimize GCP cloud spend, identify and remediate security risks, and ensure compliance across the platform. Configuration Integrity: Experience in identifying, verifying, and remediating inconsistent configurations across hybrid cloud environments. Monitoring & Tools: Familiarity with modern management and monitoring tools tailored for Red Hat/Unix ecosystems and GCP infrastructure. Daily Operations: Strong skills in daily server management (diagnosing and troubleshooting Red Hat/Unix issues, responding to major incidents, quickly restoring services, and providing technical consultation to other units). IT Governance: Ability to plan and control IT operations (defining, creating, and ensuring standard operating procedures; ensuring compliance with Engineering and Cybersecurity policies; patching, upgrading, hardening, and monitoring). Language: Proficiency in English, both spoken and written (at least B2 level). Industry Context: Previous experience in a financial institution or a highly regulated environment is considered an asset. Nice-to-have knowledge and experience Experience in managing other Unix Os-es: Solaris, AIX, IBMi. Practical experience with VM support under VMware environment. Possible locations: Warsaw.
