You’ll be embedded within an agile delivery squad, working closely with developers, architects, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-performing, scalable microservices and backend APIs.</span></p><p><span>This is a hands-on technical QA role – perfect for engineers who love building robust automation, diving deep into systems, and ensuring software works flawlessly under real-world conditions.</span></p><h5><span><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></h5><ul><li><p><span>Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for <strong>microservices</strong>, <strong>APIs</strong>, and <strong>data pipelines</strong></span></p></li><li><p><span>Perform <strong>Backend API testing</strong>, <strong>Database validation</strong>, and <strong>Integration testing</strong></span></p></li><li><p><span>Write <strong>BDD tests</strong> using <strong>Cucumber</strong> in a <strong>Java</strong>-based test framework (JUnit, Maven, Gradle)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Automate tests for <strong>Spring Boot</strong> and <strong>Spring Batch</strong> applications deployed to <strong>OpenShift</strong> / <strong>Kubernetes clusters</strong></span></p></li><li><p><span>Validate <strong>SQL</strong> queries, <strong>stored procedures</strong>, and complex data transformations</span></p></li><li><p><span>Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (<strong>UDeploy</strong>, Jenkins, etc.)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with developers to define test coverage, quality metrics, and debug issues</span></p></li><li><p><span>Use <strong>Unix/Linux commands</strong> for log analysis, deployment, and validation in distributed environments</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work with container orchestration tools like <strong>Kubernetes</strong>, <strong>OpenShift</strong></span></p></li><li><p><span>Interact with distributed systems including <strong>Kafka</strong>, <strong>Redis</strong>, etc.</span></p></li></ul><h5><span><strong>Must-Have Skills & Technologies</strong></span></h5><ul><li><p><span>5 years experience in<strong> Java</strong> development for test automation</span></p></li><li><p><span><strong>Cucumber</strong>, <strong>JUnit</strong>, <strong>Maven</strong> or <strong>Gradle</strong></span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong <strong>API testing</strong> experience (REST, JSON, etc.)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience testing <strong>microservices</strong> in production-scale systems</span></p></li><li><p><span>Solid <strong>SQL</strong> knowledge – writing queries, validating stored procedures</span></p></li><li><p><span><strong>Spring Boot</strong> and <strong>Spring Batch</strong> familiarity</span></p></li><li><p><span>Comfortable with <strong>Unix/Linux commands</strong> for debugging/logging</span></p></li><li><p><span><strong>OpenShift</strong> or <strong>Kubernetes</strong> cluster experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with <strong>UDeploy</strong>, <strong>Redis</strong>, and <strong>Kafka</strong></span></p></li></ul><h5><span><strong>Desirable Experience (Nice to Have)</strong></span></h5><ul><li><p><span>Performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)</span></p></li><li><p><span>CI/CD tooling beyond UDeploy (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Docker-based containerization</span></p></li><li><p><span><strong>AI experience</strong> which streamline test activities resulting in improved product quality and delivery.</span></p></li></ul><h5><strong>Inclusion & Diversity at Zinkworks</strong></h5><p>At Zink
