SW Test Engineer - ECU

For our client Aurobay we are looking for a SW Test Engineer - ECU. The SW Test Engineer is responsible for testing of functionality in embedded software from our supplier before delivery to customer. Primary focus is to verify ECU software deliveries from our supplier and our internal Aurobay software, to ensure the complete delivery of high-quality software to our customers. Key Responsibilities and Scope Analyze software requirements for ECU base functionalities (e.g. diagnostics and communication protocols) and define test plans with traceable test cases. Design and implement manual and automated test cases using appropriate tools (e.g. Python) in vehicle or HIL environments for efficient validation of base functionalities. Execute tests in bench setup, vehicle or HIL for verifying software requirement fulfilment. Analyse behaviour, fault trace and propose improvements of implementation to supplier. In some areas, analyse behaviour and modify calibration data to improve performance of function. For example, ensure signal resolution is correct and data is according to desired specification. Document test results, provide detailed defect reports and provide support to customer during final verification. Drive the enhancement, optimization, and expansion of our test framework Skill requirements Educational background: Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Embedded Software Engineering with relevant project work included. Strong understanding of embedded systems and ECU base functionalities (e.g. software download, VFC/PNC, security access and communication protocols such as CAN and LIN). Profound understanding of tools such as INCA, Canalyzer/Canoe, and diagnostics tools for communication with ECUs. Practical experience in testing embedded software using simulation tools (e.g., SIL/HIL systems) and physical ECU hardware in bench and vehicle. Hands-on experience in configuring and setting up vehicle, ECU bench, or HIL test environments to ensure proper test execution and accurate results. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
